The Process and Benefits of Vacuum Casting

The manufacturing industry in India has been changing for better and many new processes have come up to make it innovative. These processes are thoroughly researched to use for the benefits of mankind. Basically, these processes are tried on different materials to check its efficiency and precision making it more user friendly. These processes are smart and take less time than the older techniques that were required for the same procedure. They eradicate the problems quickly and find solutions thus presenting the perfect arena of growth for manufacturing industry. Vacuum Casting in India is one such process to benefit human beings.

Casting is a manufacturing process wherein a liquid material is poured into a mold that contains a hollow crack of the expected shape and then allowed to solidify. The part is taken out the mold later to complete the process. Generally, metals or other sustaining materials are used for the process. Vacuum Casting is a popular method to process plastic in rapid prototyping industry.

Vacuum Casting is a casting process for elastomers using a vacuum to draw the liquid material in the mold. This process is used if air entrapment is a problem or there are undercuts among others. The two-piece silicon mold is placed in a vacuum chamber. The material is mixed and degassed before pouring into the mold. The vacuum is then released and mold is removed from the chamber. The casting is corrected in the oven and then mold is removed to open the completed casting.

There are several advantages of Vacuum casting. It has ability to create large parts. It has fast prototyping ability which is good for less production time frame. The mold can be made from inexpensive materials. It has high production rates and uniformity in metal supply. It has good surface finish.
